Brother Shravan & Sanjay Kumar Business Card Would read "President" & "CEO" of GoDimensions.com

Meet Shravan Kumaran and his younger brother Sanjay Kumaran – two of the youngest promoters of a company. Aged only 12 and 10 respectively, Shravan is the Co-Founder and President of Go Dimensions while his brother is Co-Founder and CEO. The fact that they’re Std VIII and IV students respectively.

When most adults have trouble understanding Java code, these two kids have used the code to build mobile applications. The brothers have together developed four apps for the Apple Store, which have been downloaded more than 10,000 times from 20 countries.

Clad in grey suits and ties, these two highly-confident children demonstrated their apps to the media, on the iOS and Android platforms, for games, education and entertainment.

Students of Vaels Billabong High International School, both Shravan’s and Sanjay’s interest in computers started early at home when their father got them a desktop computer. Starting with Paint and games on the PC, the two started to make presentations at school and teachers encouraged them to do more. That’s how they turned into mobile app developers.

“He’s the hardware guy and I am the software guy,” said Shravan while answering one of the questions, showing how they work with each other’s strengths to come out with four mobile applications so far for IOS and Android platforms that are now available in Apple’s App Store.

“We did not know we were the youngest programmers until Apple sent us a mail recognising us!” said Shravan excitedly. Sharavan and Sanjay started this project about four years back. “When I was in class one, my father got us a computer and then we slowly started to learn about coding and java. My brother was very interested in Photoshop and designing as well, and then four years ago, my father got us a MacBook Pro — then we started developing apps!” explains Shravan.

Initially the boys started developing apps for the android market but decided to switch to iOS when the platform was gaining popularity in the US. The apps, at the moment, are free apps that have gained popularity very quickly in the market.

Catch Me Cop, a game devised by them has got 2,263 downloads in just four weeks. The Alphabet Board and Color Palette app which are devised for younger kids to learn alphabets and colours have also received good reception with over 1,000 downloads. Catch Me Cop is their popular app which has also been featured in the CNET website.

Prayer planet is the other app they have created, targetting everybody. The app is for praying on the move. This app is well received in the Gulf countries.

The boys from Vael's Billabong High International School say that their father is their biggest inspiration and support. “I knew they were bright, but to achieve something like this is phenomenal,” said Kumaran Surendran, a proud father who is a software engineer by profession.

The apps are free for download, says Shravan. The company will make money on advertisements in their apps, he said.

With all their apps being free, the boys said they are not keen on making money now. “I don’t want to this very rich guy and all. If I am then no one will want to be friends with me,” said Sanjay innocently.

The brothers also have ideas for creating more such apps in the iOS market and some in the Android market. They now have their own firm ‘Go Dimensions’ and many other foreign companies have also shown interest in collaborating with them.
