Millions of Gmail Usernames, Passwords Hacked and Posted on a Russian site

More than 5 million Gmail passwords has been leaked on a Russian Bitcoin forum, yesterday.
It is not clear how hackers collected the details. The leak came to known when a user named tvskit posted login credentials of some account holders online. The information seems to be very old, according to the reliable sources, but 60% of the passwords are still valid. It will give access to various Google services like Drive, Google+, Wallet etc other than Gmail.
The account holders are mainly English, Russian and Spanish. Google confirmed the security breach, and said that these information were likely taken from a website other than Google.
‘We have no evidence that our systems have been compromised, but whenever we become aware that accounts may have been, we take steps to help those users secure their accounts.’Caroline Matthews, spokesperson to Google, said.

The company advises users to change passwords and asked to enable two step verification for the account.
Users can check whether their account has been compromised or not, by going to this link.
However, Google has locked out anyone whose email account was included in the leak, as CNN reported. The company is directing them to  reset their password and regain access to their account.
There’s no details about the hacker yet.
